As a Senior iOS Engineer at Via, you will be a core member of the Driver Mobile team, shaping the end-to-end experience for the drivers who power Via’s network. This is a high-impact role where your work directly affects drivers on the road — from the moment they go online to accept trips, navigate routes, and complete rides efficiently. You'll work at the intersection of real-time systems, mapping, and mobile performance, collaborating with a tight-knit team of engineers, designers, and product managers who are passionate about building tools that drivers rely on every day. About the Role: Own and evolve core driver-facing features including trip management, navigation flows, real-time updates, and earnings visibility — building experiences that are intuitive, reliable, and optimized for drivers on the move. Drive improvements to Via's multi-platform UI and automation testing infrastructure, raising the quality bar across the entire mobile organization. Tackle complex, high-impact production issues in real time — diagnosing root causes quickly and shipping fixes that ensure a seamless driver experience in the field. Collaborate closely with backend engineers to design and integrate robust, real-time APIs, and partner with designers to create clear, accessible interfaces tailored for in-motion usage. Contribute to architectural decisions that shape how Via’s mobile apps are built — from performance optimization to scalability and maintainability. Mentor and support other engineers on the team through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and a strong sense of ownership over team success. About You: You have 5+ years of hands-on iOS development experience and are highly proficient in Swift, with strong command of UIKit and SwiftUI, MVVM/MVC architecture patterns, and RESTful API integration. You have a strong understanding of mobile performance optimization — memory management, async programming (async/await, GCD), and debugging complex issues in real-world conditions. You have experience working with location-based services such as Core Location, MapKit (or Google Maps SDK), and understand the challenges of building apps used in motion. You are collaborative, pragmatic, and low ego — you provide thoughtful feedback and elevate the engineers around you. You take full ownership, proactively identify problems, and are always curious to learn and improve.
