The Role
As a Senior Game Engineer , you are a crucial contributor to one of our most successful cloud games. As an expert in game engineering, you deliver complex game features while writing high-quality, extendable, and stable code. You’ll oversee technical aspects of the game project, provide examples and guidance to others, and collaborate with other developers and stakeholders in the studio and in the company.
We have a hybrid way of working, so you will have flexibility working between our office in Helsinki and your home office in Finland
For this role, we are looking for an engineer with experience across the full project lifecycle, who is comfortable joining a live, evolving product. They are driven to improve processes in the team, are responsive to the concerns of players and stakeholders across the organization, and are able to balance innovation risks and opportunities against release schedules and an ambitious project scope.
Responsibilities
Build gameplay features and systems
Take ownership over features and tasks
Provide input on technical matters
Fix issues and maintain the quality of the codebase
Collaborate with other stakeholders on game ideas, design, gameplay, and features
Resolve performance and stability issues
Create and maintain relevant technical documentation
Guide and mentor other engineers, share best practices, and help raise the technical bar across teams.
Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering
Professional experience in game development using Unity3D, Unreal or another game engine
Experience in professional, team-based software development with shipped product(s) and having worked on a live product
Strong knowledge of C#
Experience in web development, frameworks and command of JavaScript / TypeScript preferrable
Excellent problem solving skills
Proactive, self starter mentality and a can-do attitude
Good communication skills and proficiency in English
