Job Details: Job Description: The Role and Impact We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Water/Waste Treatment Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the operational excellence of our water and waste systems, including ultrapure water (UPW), liquid industrial wastewater systems (LIWS), and industrial water systems (IWT). Your expertise will help maintain safety, quality, environmental compliance, and cost efficiency, while optimizing system performance to support Intel's cutting-edge operations. Key Responsibilities - Operate and maintain water and waste systems, including reverse osmosis (RO), ion exchange, ultrafiltration, UV, wastewater, and heat exchangers, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance. - Troubleshoot industrial water and chemical-related issues affecting water quality across systems. - Serve as a subject matter expert in water analysis and sampling, supporting facilities systems engineers and operators. - Interpret analytical instruments such as ion chromatography, differential microbial analysis (DMA), and particle size/count to assess water quality and system health. - Manage water laboratories, ensuring accurate calibration of equipment, proper inventory control, and efficient processing of consumables. - Collaborate with utility partners and third-party analytical laboratories to sample, ship, and analyze water and waste samples. - Prepare and present detailed technical reports for both technical and non-technical audiences, highlighting initiatives and system performance. - Manage and optimize the sampling and analysis budget, identifying opportunities for cost savings and avoidance. - Implement and evaluate novel analysis methods, improving result accuracy, turnaround times, and cost efficiency. - Write and review standard operating procedures related to water sampling, analysis, and system operation to ensure consistent performance and compliance. The candidate should demonstrate the following behavioral traits: - Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex water and chemical-related issues. - Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences. - A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications The candidate should meet at least one of the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related STEM field with 4 years of relevant experience ; or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related STEM field with 2 years of relevant experience ; or PhD in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related STEM field. The experience referenced above should include a combination of the following: Water treatment systems, including ultrapure water (UPW) and/or liquid industrial wastewater systems (LIWS). Environmental compliance standards related to water and waste systems. This position is not eligible for Intel Immigration Sponsorship . Preferred Qualifications - Expertise in analytical instruments such as ion chromatography, DMA, and particle size/count tools. - Experience managing laboratory environments, including calibration and inventory control. - Familiarity with cost management and budgeting for water sampling and analysis.
