This role is located Mountain View, CA where we are onsite 3 days a week in office. Summary Of How You Will Impact Skylo We are seeking a highly motivated Accounting Manager to join our growing accounting team to help fulfill Skylo’s mission of making satellite connectivity available to all. Our team builds scalable processes to support Skylo’s financial reporting and compliance needs. You will be a critical member of the Controllership team reporting to the Controller. You will oversee core accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain internal controls in compliance with US GAAP and company policies. The role requires strong technical accounting expertise, experience managing the month end close process, and the ability to improve accounting processes through automation and finance systems. How You Will Contribute Accounting Operations and Financial Reporting Develop and maintain scalable accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in compliance with US GAAP and company policies. Manage key components of the month end and quarter end close process including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for key balance sheet accounts. Perform financial analysis and monthly variance reviews to support management reporting and business decision making. Support preparation of consolidated financial statements including intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and eliminations. Prepare financial statements, management reports, and analytical schedules for internal leadership. Coordinate accounting and reporting for foreign subsidiaries and ensure alignment between local statutory reporting and US GAAP reporting. Technical Accounting and Contract Review Research complex accounting matters and prepare technical accounting memos related to ASC 606 revenue recognition, ASC 842 lease accounting, consolidations, and other significant accounting matters. Review customer, vendor, and partnership contracts to determine appropriate accounting treatment and revenue recognition implications. Provide guidance to cross functional teams on accounting policies and financial reporting requirements. Process Improvement and Automation Identify and implement automation opportunities within accounting processes using ERP and finance systems. Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, strengthen controls, and support scalable growth. Leverage technology, analytics, and AI tools to enhance accounting workflows and reporting. Audit and Tax Compliance Coordinate external audits and manage auditor requests and timelines. Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation. Maintain audit ready accounting records and support SOX compliance activities where applicable. Support tax compliance activities including coordination with external tax advisors, preparation of tax related schedules, and ensuring timely filing of federal, state, and international tax returns.
