About this role Company: BlackRock Financial Management, Inc. Job Title: Associate, Application Engineer Location: 400 Howard St San Francisco, CA 94105 Job Duties: Perform business and technical analysis to inform design decisions and ensure alignment with business requirements. Contribute to code design that accurately translates business logic into scalable and maintainable software solutions. Develop core components of investment platforms using Java to support BlackRock investment processes. Conduct comprehensive testing to validate functionality, performance, and reliability of developed features. Review and refactor existing code to improve maintainability, optimize performance, and ensure alignment with best practices. Maintain investment platform applications to ensure stability, performance, and responsiveness to evolving business requirements. Provide user support by being on call to assist clients, proactively identify issues, and resolve problems to ensure a seamless user experience. Manage the release and deployment processes to ensure smooth delivery of application updates and maintain system reliability. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, or related field, and 24 months of experience in job offered or closely related role. Position requires two years of experience in the following: Java; Angular; SQL; System Design; Design Pattern; AI Tool Usage; Integration and Functional Testing; System Support; Code Review; Software Release; and Financial Domains. For San Francisco, CA Only the salary range for this position is USD$146,000.00 - USD$162,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
