About this role The BlackRock Global Markets – APAC ETF Markets team is responsible for growing and protecting the trading of the iShares product suite. We are passionate about leading all aspects of primary and secondary market ETF trading! We seek to identify and mitigate trading frictions that could impact the market quality of our products. In addition, we work alongside ETF market participants, such as liquidity providers, exchanges and regulators to strengthen and advance the ETF trading ecosystem. Your Role and Impact As a member of the ETF Capital Markets team in APAC, you will be responsible for overseeing a wide array of functions that encompass both the primary and secondary market activities, as well as spearheading the transformation of the ETF ecosystem and driving industry standards across the region. Primary Market Oversight and Risk Management You will manage the daily order taking and implement robust risk management practices for ETF Primary Markets throughout APAC. Acting as a crucial link, you will facilitate communication and coordination between external trading firms, market infrastructure entities, and the portfolio management team. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders are essential to perform this role successfully. Technical Analysis and Market Quality Improvement Your responsibilities will include analyzing and comprehending the technical nuances of ETF trading, covering all asset classes. The ultimate objective is to enhance the overall quality of the ETF market while maintaining stringent investor protection, ensuring the interests of our clients are always safeguarded. Coordination and Collaboration with Partners You will work closely with external partners, such as ETF liquidity providers and exchanges, to proactively identify and mitigate any trading risks that clients may encounter. Collaboration will also extend to internal teams across BlackRock when launching new products, managing stressed market events, and conducting due diligence to assess the trading efficiency of our existing ETF offerings. Advancing Key Initiatives and Enhancing the ETF Ecosystem In this capacity, you will collaborate with internal partner teams and engage with external ETF liquidity providers to drive forward key initiatives. Your efforts will focus on identifying and resolving trading frictions, seeking opportunities to increase participation, and reinforcing the robustness and efficiency of the ETF ecosystem in APAC. Your Responsibilities Act as the primary contact for broker dealers, market makers, stock exchanges, service providers and teams internally for all aspects of primary trading of iShares ETFs. Perform and oversight primary market activities (creations/redemptions) between APs, Portfolio Management, Trading, Exchange & ETF Service Providers Be an ETF trading subject matter expert and demonstrate in-depth product knowledge to promote efficient ETF trading and differentiate BlackRock ETFs from competitor funds and other investment vehicles. Monitor BlackRock ETF trading daily, identify and raise client and business risks and coordinate with the business, external market makers and equity exchanges on resolution. Be a risk manager, ensuring our ETFs and their shareholders are protected Conduct quantitative data analysis to facilitate business decision making and build data sets from multiple sources to produce insights for management, sales teams, and clients. Collaborate with external market makers and exchanges and collectively drive strategies which can improve ETF trading efficiency. Partner with internal stakeholders including product development teams and portfolio managers to implement product design and trading process improvements.
