What you’ll achieve
As a Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.
You will:
• Contribute to the design and debug of high-quality complex systems and software for storage environments
• Prepare, review and evaluate software& Hardware storage specifications for products and systems
• Contribute to the Design, development and implementation of test & debug strategies for complex software products and systems for storage Product lines. Essential Requirements
• 8-12 years of Enterprise server Platform Experience.
• Deep knowledge of memory/CPU/NUMA topology, DIMM population, and ECC/RAS (MCA triage, patrol scrub, mirroring/sparing) along with expertise in PCIe Gen4/Gen5/Gen6 topology, risers/slot mapping; NVMe and SAS (PERC/HBA, expanders, SES).
• Proficient with Battery Backup & VOSS systems for write cache (BBU/Cache NAND)and
comfortable with iDRAC/IPMI for telemetry, firmware baselines, and compliance; correlating SEL/MCE/AER and enclosure event messages with OS signals.
• Strong with perc-cli, nvme-cli, smartctl, ethtool, lspci, ipmitool, and Dell management tools. Able to debug production issues: PCIe link flaps, NVMe timeouts, HBA resets, and thermal/power throttling.
• Knowledge of bug tracking systems (JIRA)and excellent written/verbal communication for support of KBAs, FCOs, CLCA, RCA/FA reports and cross team collaboration. Desirable

• Storage depth: NVMe, FC HBAs, RDMA concepts; expander dual path SAS.
• Advanced RAS (AER), QPI/UPI and exposure to QAT. Rack level thermal/power budgeting; compliance (NEBS/FCC/CE/UL), secure firmware practices.
• Automation (BASH scripts/Python) and experience in Storage domain (SAN/NAS/Virtualization).
