Forward Deployed Engineer (Contract to Hire) At Laminar, we’re building an orchestration platform to replace legacy RPA with self healing computer use agents at scale. We enable our customers in legacy industries to go-live with RPA in weeks instead of months. Our belief is that every business will deploy computer use agents in the future, and Laminar will be the platform they run on. Since launching in 2024, we’ve been growing quickly and are now selling to agentic AI healthcare companies across North America. We are a four-person team that builds fast and ships often, balancing both quality and speed. We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer (contract to hire) who blends technical expertise with exceptional communication to be the bridge between Laminar and the healthcare practitioners we serve. We are working on high impact problems in legacy industries that require high attention to detail and customer empathy. You might be a fit if you: - Have 2-3 years of experience working at an early stage startup as a forward deployed engineer - Are comfortable with Python and Javascript - Write clean, maintainable code and care about testing, observability, and performance - Thrive in ambiguous environments - Confidently take ownership and accountability - Care about the future of healthcare and can empathize with our customers - Are excited about distributed systems and systems engineering problems In this role you will: - Own the technical delivery across customer deployments, from scoping to proof of concept to stable production - Work with customer teams to understand their needs and workflows - Build and troubleshoot RPAs/automations using the Laminar platform - Support the build of Lami AI, our orchestration and RPA debugging tool - Contribute to the build of Agent L, our computer use agent for RPA - Triage customer issues and be their point of contact during the go-live process - Influence our engineering culture, stack, and practices from the ground up What’s in it for you: - Competitive salary and meaningful equity - Health insurance once converted to full time employment - Flexible PTO - Health insurance What does the hiring process look like? - 10 minute intro call with CEO, Faiz - 20 minute intro call with CTO, Saheed - Week-long contract project (working within an instance of a legacy system to build an automation script using the Laminar platform) Bonus: - Experience in health tech or working with Electronic Medical Record or Electronic Health Record systems - Experience with RPA Unfortunately, we are unable to sponsor visas at this time.
