Your Impact As a Senior member of the TASER Electrical Engineering team, you will drive and engage in innovative hands-on design, development, and testing of cutting-edge electronics that are integral to Axon TASER Products. You will apply strong technical expertise and sound engineering judgment to deliver robust, high-quality designs that meet rigorous product and regulatory requirements. In this role, you will own substantial portions of circuit and subsystem designs, support system-level architecture decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional partners across product engineering, firmware, new product introduction, manufacturing, and quality teams. You will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to raising the technical bar within the team while continuing to grow your own technical leadership capabilities. Your Day-to-Day Research, propose, and develop innovative, industry-leading circuit designs for products such as TASER energy weapons, TASER-enabled devices, wirelessly connected TASER products, and related accessories Design, develop, and verify system circuitry and hardware aligned with project objectives and requirements Using OrCAD Schematic tools, design embedded Mixed-Signal electronic circuitry that integrates high voltage power supply circuitry, microcontrollers, flashlight/indication/display circuitry and drivers, memory devices (FLASH/EEPROM), switch-mode and linear power supplies, batteries, data interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, USB), RF transceivers, electromechanical transducers, and other discrete digital and analog components Collaborate with PCB designers to guide layout implementation and review designs for signal integrity, power integrity, manufacturability, and reliability using Cadence layout tools Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, technology partners, and manufacturing teams to oversee electronics development throughout the entire product lifecycle, from concept to mass production Lead schematic and layout design inspections to improve the quality of design releases and product reliability Develop test methods and create test plans to evaluate and validate designs effectively Bring up, characterize, and debug systems and circuits using lab tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, power supplies, hi-pot testers, etc. Evaluate and document design outcomes, test results, and related information, then present findings to the design teams for review and further action Support regulatory compliance efforts (FCC, CE, IEC, etc.) through design best practices and debug activities Optimize performance of electronics design using simulation tools and hands-on measurements Develop, evaluate, and help finalize assembly drawings, bill of materials, Geber files, and other design documentation needed for product release Partner with new product introduction team to develop and define test requirements documentation for PCBA board level testers and system functional test fixtures on the production line Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering discipline 6+ years of industry leading electronics de ...
