As an A&P Mechanic II, you will independently perform routine maintenance and inspections on aircraft. You will ensure all tasks comply with aviation regulations and will assist in more complex repairs under guidance. This position will be working stateside at the Cannon AFB in New Mexico and will be deployed overseas on a rotation basis. Responsibilities: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance independently. Conduct thorough inspections and document findings. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues. Collaborate with senior mechanics on complex repairs. Ensure all work adheres to FAA and company standards. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities. Promote a safe working environment. Qualifications You Must Have: High school diploma or equivalent. 1 years of relevant experience. Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience. Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification with no prior FAA violations. Must pass, written, oral and practical assessments. Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations. Basic understanding of applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications. Must have own tools in good working order. Ability to deploy for an extended amount of time to various OCONUS operating locations. Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations. Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment. Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules as required . Willing to deploy OCONUS on an approximate 90/90 rotation. Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment. Current/ valid passport and be able to obtain a visa to travel internationally . A United States Government Security Clearance is required for employment. Applicants who do not currently have a USG security clearance are welcome to apply and, if selected, will be processed for a USG security clearance by SNC prior to employment. Employment will begin once the USG security clearance is granted. If applicant is unable to obtain USG security clearance, the offer of employment will be withdrawn. Qualification We Prefer: Associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance or related field. Specific experience with certain aircraft models. Problem-solving and analytical skills. FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience. Able to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends. Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (FAR/DFARS). Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military. Essential Functions: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift. Hand and finger dexterity to work with small mechanical components and tools. Ability to work in a noisy environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials. Ability to travel frequently to customer locations, sometimes on short notice. A ...
