Electrical Engineer II

As an Electrical Engineer I, you will be involved in the initial phases of research, design, and development of electrical/electronic systems for aerospace and defense applications. You will assist in the design of integrated electrical/electronic systems, contributing to various stages of the product lifecycle under the guidance of senior engineers. Responsibilities: Design and develop electrical/electronic systems. In some applications, develop circuit card assemblies. Implement electrical wiring design practices. Conduct testing and validation of electronic systems and components. Perform troubleshooting and debugging of electronic circuits. Develop and document technical designs, test plans, and results. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product requirements are met. Participate in design reviews and provide technical insights. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance. Qualifications You Must Have: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. 2 years of experience in electrical engineering or a related role. Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience. Proficiency in electrical/electronic circuit design and testing techniques. Knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools. Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams. Qualifications We Prefer: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Experience with  Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for electrical applications. Understanding of aerospace and defense industry standards. Exposure to simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis. Exposure to FAA electrical system regulations, including Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) requirements. Exposure to electrical/electronic Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and System Safety Assessment (SSA) concepts. Understanding of an Electrical Load Analysis (ELA). Experience with circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis. Knowledge of electrical component selection and manufacturing. Understanding Electromagnetic Effects (EME) to include Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI). Experience in digital or analog circuit design and schematic capture. Understanding of the printed circuit board layout process and tools. Essential Functions: Ability to work on a computer for extended periods. Ability to travel as required. Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment. Precision in designing, testing and troubleshooting electrical/electronic systems and components. Ability to analyze complex electrical/electronic systems and evaluate performance data to identify problems and improve designs. Applying systematic and logical problem-solving techniques to diagnose and resolve electrical/electronic issues. Clearly convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and management.
