ABOUT THE TEAM
Anduril is looking for an Environmental Health Safety Manager (Test Sites) to join our rapidly growing team. As Environmental Health Safety Manager, you’ll be responsible for Anduril’s safety and environmental policies, processes, and procedures primarily at our test sites and secondarily at our HQ supporting RD. You’ll understand all federal, state, and local regulations and industry best practices, and work to improve Anduril’s processes.
ABOUT THE JOB
You’ll roll up your sleeves from day one and jump right in, both crafting plans and strategies, while also owning the tactical responsibilities of the job yourself. You’ll partner with a variety of individuals, including our Testing and Evaluation, Technical Operations, Manufacturing, and Facilities teams, working to craft cross-functional improvements to our operations. You will serve as the primary EHS resource to our Testing and Evaluation teams.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Lead day-to-day EHS operations and process management at all Test Sites (Texas, California, Oregon, Washington and Nevada)
Design and create policies for employees to follow that minimize job-related hazards in our field testing and deployment environments in concert with site leadership
Develop and conduct safety training according to appropriate regulations
Develop and maintain strong communication (both written and verbal) from the field back to the EHS team for futher SOPs and curriculum development
Site compliance with federal, state, local, and landowner regulations
Conduct safety audits at sites and build improvements
Maintain, develop or implement site specific environmental policies which include but are not limited to:
Hazardous and non-hazardous waste management
Air permitting
Spill prevention/response
Storm water management
Waste water
Incident and injury response
Coordinating with and serve as the main point of contact for local regulatory agencies
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years or 8+ years of related experience in manufacturing/assembling, RD operations is required.
You have experience with Federal and State OSHSA regulations, and the ability to monitor and interpret new regulations.
You understand the materials we use and implement handling policies based on regulations and best practices like range safety, laser safety, battery handling and disposal, etc.
You have a strong attention to detail and an attitude of 100% compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
You are a strong independent worker who can drive outcomes with minimal oversight.
You are skilled in developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with internal teams, customers, and business units.
You are extremely organized, proactive, responsive, and upbeat with strong organizational skills.
You’re both high ownership and low ego, approaching everything with strong outcome orientation and high humility.
Advanced use of MS Word, Excel, Slack, Outlook; other productivity tools.
50% travel will be required (domestic)
Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities.
