Senior Product Manager, Sign-up, Sign-in, and Recovery

Team/ Role Paragraph: The Identity Access team owns Sign In, Sign Up, Account Recovery, and Session Management — the front door to Coinbase for every user across every product. This is one of the first experiences customers have with Coinbase, serving millions of users globally across Retail, Exchange, Prime, Custody, and CDP. Our mission is to make access simple, native, and secure — with seamless sign in under 10 seconds, passwordless authentication, trusted biometrics, and easy recovery. We balance ease-of-use with security, protecting users from ATO while maintaining a delightful experience. This role sits within Platform PG and partners closely with Consumer, Insto, and Risk teams. What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties): Own Sign In and Sign Up vision, strategy, and execution across all Coinbase products Drive key metrics including sign in success rate, sign up success rate, time to login ( Lead the path to passwordless authentication (passkeys, biometrics) and drive adoption of unphishable authentication methods Own session management, device identification, and session hijacking protection Partner with Risk on account recovery flows and ATO prevention Reduce duplicate account creation and improve returning user experience Balance compliance requirements (SCA, regional regulations) with user experience What we look for in you (ie. job requirements): 7+ years of product management experience Experience with authentication, identity, or security products Strong analytical skills with experience defining and tracking success metrics across complex funnels Ability to balance security/compliance requirements with user experience Experience partnering across multiple product groups without owning end-to-end UX Strong technical aptitude to partner with engineering on session management, device identification, and authentication systems Demonstrated ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots (e.g., LibreChat, Gemini, Glean) in daily workflows, continuously learn as tools evolve, and apply human-in-the-loop practices to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality.
