Senior Field Process Engineer Key Responsibilities Serve as the single point of contact for customers, troubleshooting malfunctions, managing concerns and resolving escalations effectively. Work closely with the Customer to design and conduct experiments to meet the Customer’s needs (new process development, CIP, troubleshooting, tool-to-tool matching). Serve as the on-site technical expert through equipment installation, start-up, and warranty phases Lead equipment qualification during installation/start-up to ensure customer process specifications are achieved, customer schedule is achieved, and ASM budget is achieved. Drive containment, short-term solutions, and long-term solutions that ensure the customers’ requirements are achieved. Develop, maintain, and ensure relevance of technical information used by internal and external stakeholders – especially sharing lessons learned within our key account organization and Global Sales and Services business unit. Evaluate, understand, and identify current customer needs, while also anticipating future needs and building long-term sustainable relationship and solutions. Drive continuous improvement of the customer experience through team, process, and support tool development. Competencies to be Successful Thrive in a working environment with minimal supervision. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Tenacity to get the job done thoroughly and accurately. Proactive attitude to resolve issues. Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree in engineering, physics, chemistry or related field. Experience with hands-on RD (in industry or academia) Experience with advanced troubleshooting/structured problem analysis methodologies Fluent English communication skills. Conversational Japanese communication ability (JLPT N2 or better) Residence in Hokkaido, or Yokkaichi Japan (relocation assistance provided). Ability to travel up to 25%. Travel to US or Korea is required for training. Domestic travel in Japan may be required for customer support. Desirable Qualifications PhD in engineering, physics, chemistry or related field. Hands-on experience with cleanroom microfabrication in industry or academia. Broad technical experience and business perspective preferably in the Semiconductor / Capital Equipment industry. Knowledge of and experience with semiconductor device applications, vacuum techniques, film characterization and metrology techniques, and deposition processes and equipment.
