Lab Associate

POSITION DURATION: Six-month contract role with potential to extend or convert to FTE based on performance and business needs POSITION SUMMARY: The Lab Associate supports RD labs by ordering, receiving, and storing reagents and materials. Upkeeps laboratory consumables and reagents inventory. Fulfills various requests by research staff related to laboratory workflows and anticipate laboratory needs. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform routine housekeeping to ensure the laboratory area is neat, clean, and organized Order, receive, and store supplies, reagents and materials and verify receipt of items ordered Prepare, aliquot and/or stock reagents Ensure laboratory follows environmental, health and safety (EHS) and good laboratory practices (GLP) guidelines Monitor satellite waste streams. Laboratory waste streams include biohazardous materials and hazardous chemical waste. Dispose of waste in accordance with EHS guidelines Perform other tasks as specified by the supervisor/manager QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in life-science or related field preferred 1 year of experience working in a laboratory environment KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Works well in a team while being a self-starter Maintains a positive attitude Ability to prioritize tasks Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel and Word) The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
