Senior Maintenance & Facilities Technician – Coordination and Planning Focus
MedtronicKerkrade, Limburg, NetherlandsPosted 7 April 2026
Job Description
At Medtronic you can begin a life-long career of exploration and innovation, while helping champion healthcare access and equity for all. You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world.
A Day in the Life
The Medtronic site located in Kerkrade, the Netherlands, is positioned close to the EMEA Distribution Centre as well as the Bakken Research Centre. The site is currently being transformed into a high-performance, data-driven, and connected manufacturing environment, supporting cleanroom operations and critical medical device production.
We are looking for a Senior Maintenance & Facilities Technician who will combine technical expertise with strong planning, coordination, and administrative ownership. This senior-level role focuses on end-to-end maintenance work management — from preparation, planning, and scheduling to execution oversight and compliant documentation — while leading by example on the shop floor.
This role fills a capability gap in work preparation, planning & scheduling, and compliant documentation, while maintaining hands-on credibility in a regulated manufacturing environment. The Senior Maintenance & Facilities Technician will plan, coordinate, and control maintenance work end-to-end, ensuring alignment with production priorities, safety standards, and regulatory compliance. The role actively coordinates with Engineering, EHS, Operational Excellence, Production, and external service providers, providing structure, foresight, and practical execution to maintenance operations.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Plan, prepare, and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance activities for manufacturing, cleanroom, and facility equipment
Own work preparation, including job scoping, task sequencing, spare parts identification, and safety checks
Initiate and manage purchase orders, service requests, and quotations via ERP and procurement systems
Coordinate and supervise external vendors and service providers, ensuring compliance, safety, and quality of work
Ensure accurate and compliant documentation in CMMS and other quality systems (PMs, calibrations, service reports)
Administer equipment lifecycle records from installation through maintenance and decommissioning
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Engineering, EHS, Operational Excellence, Production) to align priorities and execution
Actively participate in hands-on execution where needed, leading by example and supporting audits/inspections
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Senior-level experience in maintenance within a regulated manufacturing environment (medical devices, pharma, food, or high-tech)
Proven experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, and work preparation, not just hands-on execution
Strong understanding of equipment maintenance, calibration, and facility systems
Hands-on experience with ERP, CMMS, and digital documentation systems
Structured, result-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and influence stakeholders
Affinity with automation, digitization, and IT systems, using data to improve operational performance
Dynamic communicator, comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization, from shopfloor operators to senior leadership
Continuous improvement mindset, with knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC (Yellow/Green Belt preferred) and willingness to challenge non-compliant or unsafe work practices
