A Day in the Life
Integrated Health Solutions (IHS) team members are seasoned professionals with in-depth knowledge of the healthcare value chain, as well as breadth of experience across multiple disciplines. They are able to partner with hospital management teams to drive complex transformational change, implement innovative growth strategies, streamline patient-focused care pathways and run and optimize operations.
The Remote Support Center Technician role in Medtronic is responsible for supporting the Operations team of IHS, specifically within the Remote Monitoring Support Center (CSSR), ensuring effective follow-up of patients with implantable cardiac devices and insulin pumps. The role contributes to optimizing remote monitoring processes through the use of interoperable IT solutions and specialized technical services to improve efficiency and patient outcomes. This is a flexible role requiring working from the Madrid office two days per week, with occasional travel to customer sites of up to 10%.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Technical review of remote follow-ups for implantable cardiac devices and insulin pumps
Monitor and ensure patient adherence to the remote monitoring program
Manage scheduling and coordination of remote follow-ups
Communicate with patients to support adherence and resolve technical issues with home monitors
Act as a liaison with hospitals regarding device events, technical issues, or non-adherence
Provide technical support to patients and clinical staff during the remote follow-up process
Contribute to continuous process improvement, new project activation, and data extraction using PowerBI
Required Knowledge and Experience:
University degree in Engineering or Health Sciences
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and high level of written and spoken English
Experience not required; strong motivation to learn and develop technical expertise
Strong teamwork, proactivity, and results-oriented mindset
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong customer relationships and support hospitals
Knowledge or interest in implantable cardiac devices, insulin pumps, healthcare, or telemedicine (preferred)
Previous experience in healthcare, implantable devices, or remote monitoring is an advantage
