Come and build with us. 🎯 Your main goal will be to lead and grow our Community Engineering team so n8n can scale high-quality community-driven development across our ecosystem. The Community Engineering team is a small, highly cross-functional team that helps external contributors successfully improve n8n. Today, the team consists of 3 Community Engineers. They sit close to our product engineering organization, especially our Nodes team, and focus on turning community contributions into reliable product value. In practice, that means helping contributors submit high-quality fixes and node improvements, maintaining quality standards for community-led work, and building the processes, tooling, and feedback loops that make contributing to n8n easier and more scalable. MISSIONS LEAD AND DEVELOP THE COMMUNITY ENGINEERING TEAM - Coach and support a team of 3 Community Engineers working across contributor support, reviews, bug fixing, and ecosystem quality. - Bring clarity, focus, and accountability to a team with broad scope, varied work, and fast-changing priorities. - Help shape the team as it grows, including hiring, onboarding, and defining what strong performance looks like in this function. IMPROVE COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION SYSTEMS - Build and refine the processes, tooling, and feedback loops that help external contributors ship high-quality code, nodes, and improvements. - Identify friction in contributor workflows and make it easier for developers to contribute successfully to n8n. - Increase the team’s leverage through automation, documentation, and scalable ways of working. MAINTAIN QUALITY ACROSS COMMUNITY-LED ENGINEERING WORK - Oversee how community pull requests, node submissions, and bug fixes are reviewed and supported. - Ensure community contributions meet our standards for quality, consistency, maintainability, and smooth integration into the product. - Step in hands-on when needed to review code, unblock technical issues, or support complex contributor workflows. CONNECT CONTRIBUTORS WITH THE PRODUCT ORGANIZATION - Partner closely with teams like Nodes to reduce the maintenance and support burden created by community contributions. - Help contributors get timely, clear, and constructive feedback throughout the contribution process. - Surface recurring contributor pain points and work with product and engineering teams to improve the developer experience. 🫵 THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF - You’re inspired by open-source products where the community doesn’t just use the product, but actively helps ...
