Position Summary: Reporting to the SVP and Business Leader for Illumina’s emerging growth businesses, the VP and General Manager, Global Microarray Business will oversee a global fully cross-functional team, providing visionary leadership to expand Illumina’s position in this well-established & growing market.  While always striving to serve the interests and mission of Illumina, ultimately expanding Illumina’s position in the large and competitive microarray landscape. Illumina is looking for a bold business leader to run all aspects of the Global Microarray business to deliver a complete portfolio of solutions targeted at this high-growth application areas such as Agri-genomics, cytogentics, and methylation. This is a unique opportunity within Illumina with the exciting mission of significantly expanding the use of Illumina’s entire portfolio of solutions across all target markets. The Global Microarray Business VP & General Manager will oversee a portfolio comprised of instruments, reagents & consumables, workflow automation, software & analytics, and laboratory services across research and clinical customers. Reporting to an Executive Leadership Team member, the General Manager will oversee business performance across functions, managing research, technology and product development, product management, marketing, and collaborating with global and regional commercial and operations teams. A deep understanding of the microarray market and technology trends and a commitment to creativity are essential for leading this organization and business to deliver a differentiated & competitive portfolio of microarray solutions. Full accountability for P&L, quality metrics, and organizational development is expected. Key Responsibilities: Lead a Unified Global Microarray Portfolio and Organizational Competencies Develop and execute a multi-year global growth strategy and regional operating plans to expand Illumina’s microarray position, focused on delivering a complete portfolio of solutions. Lead the cross-functional team with shared accountability for developing and delivering successful go-to-market plans for our strong existing portfolio (from core internal roadmap and M&A portfolio) that translate into effective operational plans which deliver expected business results. Lead the team to develop and execute a multi-year innovative R&D roadmap of microarray workflow solutions including instrumentation, reagents/consumables, workflow automation, software, analytics, and service offerings. Collaborate closely with global & regional commercial & operations teams with dedicated microarray expertise. Lead the organization to ensure development, delivery, market and successful sale of a complete portfolio of microarray solutions at scale while ensuring compliance with global regulatory & compliance needs. Ensure seamless collaboration across global and regional teams to represent the global microarray market and delivery of a full portfolio of solutions to the market.
