Senior Data Steward (DEX)

Job Summary: The Senior Data Steward is a pivotal role responsible for implementing and maintaining digital employee experience (DEX) and workplace technology analytics to continuously measure and improve employee experience and adoption. You will work on a range of strategic, highly visible projects with employee technology and adjacent functions, designing and implementing the workplace technology data and analytics ecosystem. You transform how we create and leverage data assets to enhance digital dexterity and foster an AI-enabled workforce. About the Role In this opportunity as a Senior Data Steward (DEX), you will: As part of the employee technology team, you will lead the development of the data ecosystem for our workplace technology analytics and employee research programmes: Design and Develop data warehousing functionality including the use and management of Snowflake data warehouse and the surrounding entitlements, pipelines and monitoring, in partnership with technical specialists, strategists and data engineers. Design and develop actionable intelligence . Integrate qualitative and quantitative data sources into effective data products on DEX, including technology (hardware and software) performance, employee adoption and sentiment. Mentor team members in the implementation of our advanced technology solutions for the data lake warehouse and associated functionality. Innovate with new approaches to meeting data management requirements. Make recommendations about platform adoption, including technology integrations, application servers, libraries, and frameworks. Partner with employee technology and AI subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to obtain a deep understanding of and develop scalable data products which empower data-driven decision making across the enterprise. Effectively communicate and liaise with other data management teams embedded across the organization and data consumers. AWS Cloud Data practices and DevOps tooling Data Warehousing, Modelling and Management Data Management and Data Warehousing processing capabilities Metadata Repositories, Information and Data Catalogs Data governance and the application of rigorous security and privacy controls Master Data platform capabilities About you: You're a fit for the role of Senior Data Steward (DEX) if your background includes: 6 to 10 years of experience within a large, complex and multinational organization. 5 years of relevant experience in the Data and Analytics context Implementation of data warehouses and data management technologies for large-scale organisations Advanced command of data warehouse creation, management, and performance strategies and building data pipelines using platform services in the cloud Experience in engineering and implementing data systems in the cloud including the creation of monitoring and DevOps functions Building data products with structured data analytics and reporting platforms and data visualization tools (PowerBI or Tableau) Ability to understand, interpret and analyse employee behaviour, technology adoption and ways of working using statistical analysis and data science principles, including survey and adoption data. Applying rigorous standards to data quality, lineage, and stewardship, ensuring metrics and data assets accurate, trusted, and fit for purpose across the organisation. Agile development cadence SQL and Data Warehousing fundamentals. Data Integration tools: DBT, Informatica, etc. DEX platforms (e.g., Nexthink, Lakeside/SysTrack) and an understanding of how DEX data is structured and consumed. Intermediate understanding of Big Data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Hive, Impala, Sqoop, Oozie etc. AWS services and management, including Serverless, Container, Queueing and Monitoring services Programming languages: Python, PySpark, Java, JavaScript Data interchange formats: Parquet, JSON, CSV, Avro Lifecycle management and software development practices such as v ...
