Accounting Manager (Tax)

This position will be reported to the Senior Director of General Accounting. The candidate will work closely with the general accounting team in Poland and the global Controller teams to ensure the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of general accounting processes and procedures. Position will be in Gdansk, Poland.  The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general accounting and good understanding of GL accounts of tax accounts (direct, indirect, payroll, WHT etc.) Additionally, this individual will work to standardize general accounting, including controls, consistent with the global operating procedures of Thomson Reuters and facilitate the escalation and resolution of open items. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general accounting; will possess exceptional analytical skills and knowledge of SAP and Blackline;  8 years of experience in tax accounting, reconciliations, GL accounting, or shared services ; a great collaborator with the ability to manage in a challenging work environment; ability to identify and assess issues; knowledge of the control environment and how to identify gaps; ability to make recommendations and implement improvements; ability to understand and implement processes. About the Role This opportunity as an Accounting Manager (Tax) , involves: May have people management responsibilities; Facilitating the close process to ensure all journal entries and reconciliations are done in a timely and effective manner, meeting SOX requirements with the highest level of quality Assisting in developing and reporting metrics to the Global Controller and Regional Controller teams and ensuring that open items in reconciliations are escalated and resolved in a timely manner; providing analytical review to identify trends and comment on overall quality of reconciliations. Assisting in the development and implementation of continuous training programs for the General Accounting and Controller teams. Proficiency in English is required. About You You’re a fit for the role of Accounting Manager (Tax) if you have the following required qualifications: Technical / Professional Skills & Competencies At least 8 years of professional accounting experience with multi-national companies. Knowledge of common accounting procedures. Effective written, verbal and interpersonal skills with a competence in presenting in a professional and influential manner. Attention to fine detail and demonstrate high-level of accuracy. Enterprise resource planning ERP software — for example, SAP, Oracle, BEx, BlackLine. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Proficiency in English.
