Job Description
From Fivetran’s founding until now, our mission has remained the same: to make access to data as simple and reliable as electricity. With Fivetran, customer data arrives in their warehouses, canonical and ready to query, with no engineering or maintenance required. We’re proud that more organizations continue to leverage our technology every day to become truly data-driven.
About the Role
As Senior Developer Content Manager for Connector SDK, you will drive developer adoption through hands-on enablement content and community engagement. You'll create the tutorials, walkthroughs, and code samples that get developers successfully building with Fivetran's Connector SDK. You'll write Python alongside prose, engage directly with developers and open source contributors, and think constantly about onboarding — what's confusing, what's missing, what makes someone give up. You'll work closely with the Connector SDK technical writing team who own the reference documentation, and bridge engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to drive adoption and growth.
This is a full-time position based out of our Bangalore office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team. You will report to the Director of Technical Writing.
Technologies You’ll Use
GitHub for version control, open source community management and code review
AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) for content creation and code examples
Python for creating connector examples, reviewing community code, and hands-on enablement
Video creation tools for tutorial and demo content
Community platforms such as Slack communities, forums
Content management such as docs-as-code, Slab, Google Slides, YouTube
What You’ll Do
Define the Connector SDK developer content and community strategy, including metrics to measure impact and success
Create tutorials, quickstart guides, code walkthroughs, and video content optimized for AI-assisted development workflows
Develop and maintain working Python code samples that demonstrate connector patterns developers can use and adapt
Work with the Connector SDK technical writing team to ensure learning content and documentation resonate with code-first audiences
Partner with Marketing on developer-facing blog posts, case studies, technical thought leadership content and other developer relations activities
Build and grow the Connector SDK developer community through remote and in-person hackathons, meetups, conferences, and strategic partnerships
Own the Connector SDK open source community and contributors' experience, managing contributions and facilitating PR reviews with Engineering and Technical Writing teams
Enable Sales and Solution Architecture teams through training materials, technical playbooks, and hands-on workshops
Advocate for resources from Marketing, Product, and Engineering to support high-impact Connector SDK initiatives
Skills We’re Looking For
5+ years in developer relations, technical community management, or developer-focused content creation
Ability to work on a schedule that overlaps with global colleagues - available until 12 noon PST/PDT most days.
Proven experience creating developer-facing educational content: tutorials, videos, code walkthroughs, workshop materials, or similar hands-on material
Working Python skills: can read, write, and debug code, review PRs, and create working examples
Experience organizing hackathons, meetups, conferences, or managing open source communities
Demonstrated success driving measurable adoption metrics for developer-facing products
Strong cross-functional collaboration with ability to align Engineering, Product, Marketing, and GTM teams
Strategic thinker who identifies high-impact opportunities and executes with minimal oversight
Bonus Skills
Experience with AI-powered development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT)
