The Avigilon Alta Video UI team is responsible for the mission-critical infrastructure that powers our VMS. We are currently evolving our platform to support deep-tier interconnection across the Motorola product portfolio. Our team values high-performance engineering, architectural integrity, and a commitment to building the most reliable real-time tools in the industry. While our stack features Vue 3, Pinia, and TypeScript on the frontend and Go on the backend, we prioritize engineering fundamentals over specific library knowledge. We are looking for a developer who can navigate logic, manage state, and help us build maintainable solutions. Job Description ​Analyzes, develops, maintains software for the organization’s products and systems. Familiarity with/interest in engineering patterns and best practices. Develops, validates, and tests: can build tested, maintainable code and debug when necessary. Implements state management patterns and API integrations to support a scaling ecosystem. Delivery: basic understanding of CI/CD principles and deployment, Git. Communicates: comfortable collaborating with other teams on solutions and reaching out for information/requirements when necessary. Basic Requirements Experience: 2-5 years of software engineering experience with knowledge of HTML, CSS, TypeScript and ideally modern frontend frameworks. Logic & State: Understanding of application state patterns, data flows (e.g., Pinia, Vuex, or Redux) and reactivity/observables. API & Infrastructure: hands-on experience with RESTful API, websockets.. Solid understanding of web development principles. Engineering Mindset: a good foundation in data structures/algorithms and design patterns. Ability to see the long-term implications of solutions. Collaboration: Demonstrated team player skills and a willingness to work with others. Desired Skills Resilient Systems: excited about building, operating, and maintaining resilient, scalable systems. Tests their code. Analysis: ability to investigate and get to the root cause of issues and find a solution. Flexibility: happy exploring new areas of the codebase and jumping into new features (with help, of course). Can prioritise effectively. Willingness to learn: we’re always looking to improve our codebase, whether via patterns or libraries and we review code. Remote Culture: the team is distributed across geographies, and you’re happy working remotely part of the week. We have offices in central London and Uxbridge.
