The Ciena Test Engineering Operations team is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Inventory Specialist to support critical test engineering and production operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring the availability, accuracy, and integrity of test equipment across contract manufacturing sites, directly enabling high-quality delivery for Ciena customers worldwide.
Primary location: Ciena Thailand – Fabrinet, Chonburi
How you will make an impact:
Oversee daily stockroom operations across contract manufacturing sites, including receiving, storage, distribution, and shipping of test equipment and materials
Verify incoming equipment and materials align with purchase orders and project requirements
Ensure inventory accuracy and compliance within Ciena’s asset tracking system through disciplined inventory management practices
Monitor stock levels and equipment utilization, coordinating with operations and engineering teams to prevent shortages or overstocking
Track equipment calibration, maintenance, and repair activities, ensuring timely system updates
Investigate inventory discrepancies, drive corrective and preventive actions, and support audit activities
Promote proper equipment handling, storage, and labeling to protect asset integrity
The must haves:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in equipment inventory management
Experience in electronics or telecommunications manufacturing environments
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Ability to identify issues, implement corrective and preventive actions, and report outcomes
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
Professional-level written and spoken English communication skills
Nice to haves:
Experience supporting test engineering or production operations
Familiarity with asset tracking or enterprise inventory management systems
Experience working with contract manufacturers in a global environment
Exposure to equipment calibration and maintenance tracking processes
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in fast-paced settings
