About the Job Red Hat Engineering is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Hybrid Platforms (HP) Engineering-Productivity team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to Red Hat’s hybrid cloud vision by creating tools, frameworks, and automation that help HP engineers deliver faster, safer, and more scalable services. The HP Engineering-Productivity team builds and maintains an evolving suite of developer experience and infrastructure tools used across HP — from continuous integration systems and ephemeral testing environments to AI-driven developer assistance and automation frameworks. As a key member of this team, you’ll design and implement software that improves the way our engineers build, test, and release cloud-native applications on OpenShift. You’ll collaborate with engineers across multiple HP services to identify pain points, standardize workflows, and deliver innovative solutions that enhance productivity and reliability across Red Hat’s hybrid cloud ecosystem. What You Will Do Design, implement, and maintain developer productivity tools and platforms that streamline the software delivery lifecycle for HP teams Design, implement, and maintain new AI-supported SDLC workflows Build APIs, automation, and CI/CD pipelines that accelerate development and testing workflows across multiple services Collaborate with SREs, developers, and quality engineers to improve observability, build reliability, and deployment efficiency Contribute to shared infrastructure services such as ephemeral environments, resource modeling APIs, and developer onboarding automation Measure and monitor the performance of tools in production to ensure high availability and low latency What You Will Bring The following list is a non exhaustive list of skills we would like our new team member to have. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent studies and experience. 5 years of professional software engineering experience Proficiency in Go and/or Python, with strong focus on backend systems and APIs Experience developing and deploying containerized applications on Kubernetes or OpenShift Familiarity with CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Tekton) and modern DevOps workflows Familiarity with coding assistants Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams Nice to Have Experience developing internal developer platforms or SaaS tooling for engineers Familiarity with observability and logging frameworks (Prometheus, Loki, Splunk, CloudWatch) Experience with AI-assisted development, productivity analytics, or workflow automation Contributions to open source projects or engagement in developer productivity communities #LI-DL1 The salary range for this position is $118,600.00 - $195,680.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications. Pay Transparency Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
