About the Role Veeam Kasten is the leader in Kubernetes Backup and Disaster Recovery. We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead an established, talented team of backend and frontend engineers building the next generation of cloud-native data protection. In this role, your focus will be on execution, technical excellence, and talent retention. We need a hands-on leader who "speaks" Kubernetes fluently and has deep expertise in Go to guide architectural decisions and compliment senior engineers. You will manage a full-stack team (Go backend/Vue.js frontend) and collaborate closely with Product Management to prioritize features and deliver a world-class user experience. What You’ll Do Team Leadership Development: Lead and mentor an established team of Backend (Go) and Frontend (Vue.js) engineers Focus on retention and individual professional growth through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career planning Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and innovative engineering culture within the existing group Technical Strategy Guidance: Serve as a technical subject matter expert in Kubernetes Participate in architectural reviews and design discussions, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and cloud-native Bridge the gap between backend complexity and frontend usability Drive engineering best practices, including code quality, testing standards (unit/integration/e2e), and security Product Delivery Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers to define the roadmap, estimate effort, and prioritize the backlog Collaborate with other Engineering Managers to identify dependencies, resolve bottlenecks, and align on cross-team technical initiatives Balance the delivery of new features with the necessity of maintenance and technical debt reduction What You’ll Bring Engineering Management Experience: 5+ years of experience managing software engineering teams, with a track record of delivering complex enterprise software Deep Coding Expertise: Strong background in software development with Go is desired, however, a strong background in C, C++, and Java is acceptable Kubernetes Mastery: Advanced knowledge of the Kubernetes ecosystem. You understand how to build applications for Kubernetes, not just run them on it Full-Stack Awareness: Experience managing or working with frontend engineers.
