Validation Principal Engineer

We’re a team of expert engineers responsible for the development of all test cases and test tools to ensure the functionality and compatibility of our products. We’re involved in the whole testing process from preparing test and diagnostic programs to recommending changes in testing equipment procedures and designing new testing equipment.

What you’ll achieve
As a Validation Principal Engineer, you will be responsible to Focuses on activities in Define, Plan, Implement, Launch, and Sustain Phases. Drive test strategy implementation, issue analysis, DOE (Design Of Experiment), and validation technical investigations and training. You will partner with a test team during test execution and report results to development engineers and leadership. You will also create test plans that include resource requirements based on inputs from Development and Marketing. Finally, you will work with external validation partners to develop comprehensive test plans and test coverage across multiple test organizations.
You will:
Identify and develop strategic test partnerships with ODMs and suppliers. Review vendor test cases and gap analysis to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Cross functional dissemination for portfolio/generational test strategy. Create & review product family or product specific test plan. Conduct Design of experiments to support issue triage and analysis.
Oversight, tracking and assessment of the validation efforts between various validation functional teams (CiT, Workshops, CSLP, etc)
test tool investigations and methodology recommendations (evolution during implementation)
Collect and research failure data from various groups (Quality, Reliability, Validation, lessons learned, Service, Repair Centers, etc.) to drive root cause analysis and closed-loop corrective actions.

Essential Requirements
5 to 8 years of related experience
Solid understanding of PC and server related hardware and software system architecture, and interactions and should be able to apply it to resolve issues
Enthusiastic about learning new tools, languages and operating systems used by the test team
Proficient in reading and understanding technical data sheets
Desirable Requirements
Minimum BS in engineering discipline (SW/EE/etc.), and design experience in the area of focus (Notebook, Desktop, BIOS, Graphics, Dock, and Communication preferred)
