ABOUT THE POSITION As a Fire safety Engineer, you will: Be part of Battery energy storage new enclosure system safety team. Will closely work with Product development team from design engineer from non-mechanical domain, Program managers, product manager, Requisition team and other stakeholders. Perform CFD modeling and analyses for fire behavior of energy storage systems to support large scale fire tests. Keep udated with emerging fire suppression technologies for BESS industry, compare and analyze the technologies to deploy the optimal one for fluence products Well versed with the NFPA, UL, and IS standards related to fire suppression testing. Collect, analyze, and document the available experimental data to draw useful inferences . Influence the cooling and fire suppression system design; and design to meet various published technical standards and codes. Participate in safety system design- fire safety, explosion prevention, advanced deflagration method, safe venting system design and experimentation. What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence? Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Mechanical engineering with 3-5 years of work experience in fire and combustion domain. Highly experienced with CFD softwares preferably FDS, PYROSIM, ANSYS FLUENT, and CFX Experience in performing CFD studies in fire engineeirng doamin Experience in performing DFMEA and SIL assessment. Knowledge and experience in desigining and deploying of fire suppression systems. · Strong presentation and interpersonal skills. · Excellent communication skills. · Comfortable of working in a highly dynamic and changing environment and adapt to shifting customer priorities. The ideal candidate will have a broad mechanical  and fire engineering  background as well as hands-on experience  performing experiments realted to fire propagation and fire suppression.
