ABOUT THE TEAM We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Revenue Accountant to play a critical role on our Technical Revenue Accounting team – a part of our overall Contract to Cash Process. Reporting to the Technical Revenue Accounting Manager, this individual will be responsible for the accurate and timely recognition of revenue across our diverse portfolio of product and service contracts, with a strong emphasis on Product, Subscription (Lease), and Maintenance contracts. ABOUT THE JOB The Senior Revenue Accountant will leverage Oracle Fusion Projects to manage the end-to-end project accounting lifecycle, including contract review, fulfillment, cutoff, allocation of revenue according to ASC 606, and evaluating the appropriate revenue recognition model to apply (point-in-time versus over time. This individual will act as a key liaison, bridging the gap between Business Line FPA teams and Corporate Accounting to ensure financial results accurately reflect project execution and strategy. WHAT YOU’LL DO Work with Technical Accounting to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with ASC 606 for new and modified customer contracts. Perform technical assessments to determine the appropriate timing and method of revenue recognition, with a strong focus on *transfer of control* for both product sales (e.g., shipment, customer acceptance) and service delivery (e.g., over time, milestones). Evaluate and determine Standalone Selling Price (SSP) for use in the allocation of contract pricing to performance obligations. Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams on revenue recognition matters, including contract review, revenue forecasting, and deal structuring. This role requires collaboration with Program Managers, Finance Program Analysts, and various other departments. Execute revenue close procedures efficiently and accurately within tight monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines. Monitor contract funding, limits, modifications, closeouts, and progress to completion, to ensure accurate revenue recognition. Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies. Collaborate with Project Management, Contracts, and Pricing teams to understand contract terms and conditions, and provide guidance on revenue recognition impacts. Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making by senior management and FPA. Prepare and review complex revenue journal entries, ensuring proper classification and supporting documentation. Look around the corner to mitigate future potential issues and mitigate actual issues with optimized processes and controls. Support internal and external audit requests, including DCAA audits, by providing detailed documentation and explanations. Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the revenue accounting cycle to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Act as a power user of our ERP system (Oracle Fusion Cloud) for all revenue-related activities, including contract setup, project accounting, product and service pricing, and contract asset / liability accounting.
