Job Description: Job Overview As a Senior Sales Engineer DACH, you will support Fluence’s commercial growth across the region by developing technically optimized energy storage solutions in close collaboration with EMEA Sales teams. Based in Erlangen or Berlin (hybrid), you will translate customer requirements into competitive proposals, provide deep technical expertise on energy storage platforms, and guide system configuration and compliance with local standards. You will lead technical aspects of the sales process—from solution design and contractor evaluation through contract negotiation and project handover—while coordinating with Product Management, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Project Execution teams. Acting as the technical owner of assigned opportunities, you will proactively manage risks, support tool and material development, and feed customer insights into product roadmaps. This role requires strong ownership, adaptability, and collaboration to successfully close complex deals across the DACH region. Key Responsibilities Translate customer requirements into compelling and optimised technical energy storage solution proposals in close cooperation with the EMEA sales teams Develop a deep understanding of energy storage technology platforms and provide sales teams with technical support as well as product configuration guidance Initiate or support the development and management of sales tools and support materials Take the lead in identifying and evaluating proposals from installation contractors to support overall system integration and turnkey solution delivery Lead the technical aspects of contract negotiations and support the Sales team closing contracts Capture customer technical and application requirements to shape product roadmaps Support in developing designs to meet applicable local codes and standards Being able to identify technical deviations and driving those towards a solution whilst weighing risks associated to it. Handover all technical details of transacted deals to the Project execution teams and support in initial start-up of the project. Co-ordinate product readiness, product availability and pricing with the Product Management, Manufacturing and the Procurement departments to feed into the offering stage Travel throughout DACH region Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or similar technical discipline At least five year’s relevant professional work experience in the power industry Ability to solve complex technical problems and effectively communicate results Past offer management or technical contract review experience Experience developing technical and financial models using Excel and/or Matlab Experience working with CRM and engineering tools (e.g. Salesforce, CAD) Demonstrated experience working in energy storage, solar, other power generation or industrial balance of plant (e.g. EPC works) Knowledge of local standards, codes and regulations Passion and entrepreneurial drive, ability to prioritize and execute many parallel tasks High level of ownership of opportunities and drive to close them to meet Fluence’ business targets Strong co-ordination and communication skills Effective in a highly collaborative yet informally structured work environment Fluent in written and spoken German and English Our Culture At Fluence, our culture is the foundation that drives our ambitious growth strategy and fuels our mission to transform the future of energ ...
