Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.

What you’ll do:
Own the integrated hybrid powertrain verification
Take the systems engineering inputs of a turboshaft / turbogenerator powertrain system including batteries, motors and other complex mechanical parts and verify the system through test
Own the verification of the turbogenerator on the test-bench and into the aircraft including the start of the flight test campaign
Contribute to the design reviews of the turbogenerator in providing expert test and operation knowledge
Manage suppliers, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure verification can happen safely and on time
Ensure 3rd party stakeholders deliver on-time
Ensure all verification activities can be performed safely
What you’ll need:
BS / MS / PhD in a related scientific or engineering field.
10+ years experience in complex system verification
Ability to operate quickly and to tight timelines in ensuring testing happens on time and can provide sufficient
Strong fundamentals and demonstrated understanding of systems engineering
Experience with industry-standard tools and operational behaviours for turbine and / or electrical systems
A systematic approach to problem-solving and the ability to communicate complex, technical rationale to multidisciplinary stakeholders.
Extremely self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives alone and to tight deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience writing comprehensive technical reports and documents.
Nice to have:
Prior experience with hybrid-electric aircraft, eVTOLs, or hybrid automotive powertrains
Prior experience with turboshafts, turbines and turbogenerators
Familiarity with FAA or EASA certification
Knowledge of simulation model validation, model calibration, and uncertainty quantification methods

Actual compensation offered will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
