DevOps Engineer (Messaging Team), Analyst

About this role Analyst, DevOps Engineer We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our Production Engineering team within the Aladdin Platform Group. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for technical troubleshooting, a keen interest in learning new technological tools, and a commitment to enhancing procedures and processes. This role requires the ability to identify trends and solve problems, with a proven aptitude for quickly mastering new technologies and proprietary systems. The successful candidate will serve as a technical product expert during customer implementation projects, organize and execute system deployment plans, automate infrastructure management, and develop reports in compliance with applicable project requirements. We possess a broad and diverse skill set and are seeking a new team member who can bring unique and valuable contributions to our team. Role Responsibility Build, update, and maintain tooling to deploy, upgrade, monitor, and maintain messaging infrastructure hosted in Azure and AWS. Designing, implementing and working with automated solutions for cloud-based infrastructure. Developing or modifying solutions to automate tasks and meet business requirements. Help to suggest and design both short-term and long-term engineering solutions to improve existing operational workflows. Build relationships with stakeholders to understand their roles and requirements and clearly communicate with them on progress, challenges, and questions. Ensure resilience and stability through quality configuration reviews, regression testing, and level two production support for owned tools. Provide on-call support on a rotational basis including weekend coverage. Collaborate with team members in a multi-office, multi-time zone environment. Skills/Qualifications: A degree specializing in Computer Science, Technology, MIS, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or similar. 1 - 2 years of industry experience in an engineering role. Exposure to and understanding of cloud ecosystems such as Azure or AWS, including knowledge of their respective APIs for provisioning and monitoring. Experience in a programming language such as Python, Java or PowerShell and their respective testing modules. Understanding of Agile work environments, including knowledge of Azure DevOps, GIT and CI/CD. Experience troubleshooting clients' technical issues, and experience working with engineering teams, sales, professional services, and customers. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to work with teams across geography. Create and deliver best practices recommendations, documentation for internal wiki pages, and presentations. Good to have: Experience with messaging technologies & platforms like Azure's Service Bus, Event Grid, Event Hub, IBM MQ or Google Cloud's Platform Pub/Sub. Experience with real-time distributed event streaming platforms. Experience with Linux server environments. Experience with configuration management or Infrastructure as Code tools. Experience with Cloud-Native distributed containerized microservice orchestration environments. Previous experience working in the Financial Services or Technology industry.
