Title and Summary Director, Account Management (Financial Institutions) Overview This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of Mastercard’s strategic relationships with assigned Financial Institution (FI) clients, with a focus on driving long-term partnership value and sustainable growth. The position plays a critical role in shaping and executing joint strategies that deepen client engagement, expand segment penetration, and accelerate revenue growth for both the client and Mastercard. ________________________________________ Role • Lead and manage senior client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for assigned FI partners • Develop and execute joint business plans that deliver against revenue, market share, and strategic objectives • Identify and unlock new growth opportunities across key segments, including consumer, SME, and commercial payments • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, marketing, delivery, technology and services) to design and implement impactful payment solutions and programs • Drive consultative, insight-led engagement with clients, leveraging data and market intelligence to shape strategic decisions • Lead complex commercial negotiations and ensure alignment on mutually beneficial outcomes • Monitor performance against targets, proactively identifying risks and opportunities, and implementing corrective actions as needed • Represent Mastercard with credibility and influence at executive levels within client organizations ________________________________________ All About You • Proven experience in the payments and financial services industry, with a strong understanding of card, digital payments, and banking ecosystems • Demonstrated track record in managing strategic partnerships and delivering commercial growth • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate independently and drive results in a fast-paced environment • Consultative selling approach with the ability to translate client needs into actionable strategies and solutions • Excellent execution skills, with a structured and analytical approach to problem solving • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience in managing complex deals and negotiations • Executive presence with outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills • High level of comfort working across multiple disciplines, including technology, data analytics, and product development • Experience in roles spanning strategy, product, segment management, fintech, or top-tier management consulting is highly preferred Corporate Security Responsibility All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must: Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices; Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed; Report any suspected information security violation or breach, and Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines.
