The Role We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting team! You Will Perform general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, SOX compliance, and other ad hoc tasks Execute monthly accounting close activities and complete related deliverables on time Perform reconciliations and conduct actual vs. actual flux analysis with a strong attention to detail Coordinate and assist with external audit requests Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and maintain effective internal controls Support the external reporting process and SEC filing deadlines Assist with technical accounting research and documentation of new accounting policies and procedures Support international compliance efforts, including statutory reporting, local GAAP requirements, and coordination with in-country advisors across Cockroach Labs' global entities Assist in monitoring and maintaining compliance with international tax obligations, transfer pricing documentation, and cross-border intercompany transactions Proactively identify issues, drive continuous improvement, and optimize and automate processes and systems Assist in special projects associated with inventory, budgets, financial metrics, and more Participate in system testing and provide support for ERP and financial system implementations Take on ad hoc projects to streamline and scale accounting operations You Have 5–7 years of overall accounting experience; CPA preferred but not required 2+ years of public accounting experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent Solid GL accounting experience Proficiency with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is a strong plus Experience with lease accounting (ASC 842) and fixed asset accounting is a plus Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP Self-motivated team player with the ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve competing business issues Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and projects within tight deadlines Business acumen and comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets System implementation experience is a plus Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills Cockroach Labs is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
