Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Platform

The Opportunity Adobe Cloud Platform & Collaboration (ACPC) builds the cloud infrastructure behind Photoshop, Firefly, Express, and other creative tools used by millions every day. We're looking for a Cloud Software Engineer who wants to take ownership of services that creative professionals around the world rely on. You'll join a team of four to nine engineers that designs, builds, and operates microservices at scale across multiple cloud regions. We follow a You build it, you own it philosophy, meaning you'll have real responsibility from architecture through production. You'll collaborate with teams in Hamburg, the US, and India, working on problems where reliability, security, and performance matter every day. What you'll Do Develop and operate Java microservices that power Adobe’s cloud platform, supporting a large global audience Improve the performance, reliability, and security of services your team owns end-to-end Apply modern engineering practices and AI-assisted tooling to make development faster and more productive Raise the quality bar through code reviews, testing strategies, and thoughtful system design Work closely with your team and collaborate across engineering and product organizations Contribute to a culture of continuous learning, shared ownership, and open collaboration across teams What you need to succeed 8 years of professional experience in software engineering, ideally in cloud-native environments Strong programming skills in Java; additionally, Go or C would be a plus Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservice architectures, and cloud platforms such as AWS Hands-on experience with Spring, RESTful APIs, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk Clear communication skills in German and English Curious about modern development practices, including AI-assisted development and automation What We Offer You Real impact at scale: your work directly enables millions of users to create and collaborate Ownership and autonomy over the services you build, from design through production A global, diverse team that brings different perspectives to hard problems 2–3 on-site team days per week at our Hamburg office at the Fish Market, with flexibility to work from home Growth opportunities in a rapidly expanding team, where you can take on more responsibility over time Not sure if you meet every point?
