IT Intern

POSITION SUMMARY: Natera is looking for a tech-savvy, forward-thinking IT Intern to join our team. The mission of the team is to provide a delightful end-user experience, using the right technology with world class service delivery. This isn't your typical "hardware and helpdesk" internship. While you’ll learn the ropes of IT operations, your primary mission will be to identify, test, and implement AI-driven solutions to boost our internal productivity. You will act as a bridge between emerging AI technologies and our daily workflows. This is a paid internship. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: AI Implementation: Research and deploy AI tools (LLMs, Copilots, and automation agents) to streamline repetitive tasks across departments. Workflow Optimization: Audit existing IT and business processes to identify bottlenecks that can be solved via automation or Generative AI. Prompt Engineering Training: Develop internal "Prompt Libraries" and collaborate with team members on using AI tools effectively and securely. Data Security: Assist in ensuring that AI usage aligns with company data privacy policies and ethical standards. Technical Support: Provide baseline IT support while looking for ways to automate common helpdesk queries (e.g., via Gems, NotebookLM, Natero chatbot, etc.). QUALIFICATIONS: Academic Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Communication: Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical team members. The AI Enthusiast: You don’t just use ChatGPT for homework, you understand how LLMs work and stay updated on the latest AI trends (Gemini, Claude, Grok, Midjourney, etc.). Problem Solver: You see a manual spreadsheet and immediately think, "How can I automate this?" Tech Stack: Familiarity with Python, low-code platforms (like Google Apps Sheet / Script, Zapier, Make), and API integrations is a huge plus. WHAT YOU’LL LEARN: How to integrate AI into a professional corporate environment. Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade automation tools.
