The Equities Engineering team builds and operates the systems that power stock trading for millions of customers. The team focuses on order management, execution, market data, and reliability, ensuring trades are processed accurately and with low latency. You’ll work closely with product, data, and infrastructure partners to deliver systems that meet strict performance and regulatory requirements. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team responsible for delivering and maintaining critical equities trading systems. You will set clear goals, guide technical direction, and support engineers in delivering reliable, scalable services. You will partner with product and business teams to translate requirements into execution plans, ensuring systems meet performance, accuracy, and compliance standards. Your work will directly impact the quality and reliability of the trading experience for customers!
This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA office, with in-person attendance expected 5 days per week.

What you'll do
Lead a team of engineers to deliver reliable equities trading systems with clear uptime and latency targets
Set quarterly goals and track progress using defined metrics such as system availability, order throughput, and incident response time
Partner with product managers and business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver features on schedule
Review system architecture and guide design decisions to improve scalability, fault tolerance, and performance
Support hiring, onboarding, and development of engineers through regular feedback and structured growth plans
What you bring
Experience managing engineering teams that build and operate high-availability backend systems
Ability to define and track measurable goals such as service uptime, latency, and delivery timelines
Strong technical background in distributed systems, APIs, and data-intensive applications
Experience working on financial systems, trading platforms, or other regulated environments
Clear communication skills with the ability to explain technical decisions and trade-offs
