Meet the team:
One of the keys to delivering a high-quality ADAS driving experience is an accurate, up-to-date HD map that describes the world around us. This map, collected onboard our vehicles and processed by the Data Services Operations team, is required to meet intense quality standards achieved through structured workflows, rigorous policy and attention to detail. Along with providing HD map production, the Map Operations team supports and enables data-driven decision making by providing GIS analysis to teams across Ford and Latitude.
What you’ll do:
Establish and evolve enterprise GIS systems for efficient usage and integration of spatial data from various sources - enabling high availability, accuracy and performant continental-scale data operations
Create and maintain external data source discovery, storage and management processes
Optimize federation, maintenance and delivery of geospatial data, including interoperability/fusion of proprietary and external data, to various enterprise stakeholders
Develop system processes, standards, and documentation for Data Services Operations
Work closely with the Data Services Operations Manager - Mapping on developing and carrying out department initiatives
Support team in delivery of core requisite mapping operations that drive system development and broader enterprise capability
What you'll need to succeed:
Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in GIS, Computer Science/Engineering, Cartography, Geography. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an Associate’s degree with four years of employment experience or a High School Diploma or GED equivalent with six years of employment experience required
3-5 years experience in enterprise GIS administration and management
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in ArcGIS applications and software support, specifically ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, ArcGIS Pro; SQL database administration
Experience managing geospatial data, geodatabases, analysis, maps, services, and web applications
Strong ability to collaboratively shape, refine and prioritize ambiguous requirements into effective solutions
Experience with documenting complex, technical processes
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
Nice to have:
Programming experience using SQL, Python, and JavaScript
