THE ROLE The Platform Engineering team creates the foundation that enables the industry’s most innovative, high-performance, and highly available portfolio of Pure Storage products that are designed for the most demanding mission critical applications. We design, build and deliver hardware products, but over 90% of our engineering staff are software engineers. WHAT YOU'LL DO Deliver manufacturing diagnostics and tools for Everpure Direct Flash Module product line Collaborate with hardware, firmware, software and manufacturing test teams, and deliver support for our ambitious roadmap items. Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams in getting requirements. Responsible for the overall development life cycle of the solution and managing projects. Instill best practices of software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements and deliver high quality work on tight schedules. Clearly and regularly communicate status on how projects are progressing. Managing day-to-day software engineering development activities. Hiring, managing, monitoring and motivating software development team members. Driving innovation while at the same time managing software development schedules. Integrate software with existing systems. Driving company culture and career development to individual contributors. WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE... Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent. 7+ years of software development experience as an individual contributor; 3+ years experience in building and leading strong engineering teams in a hardware or storage development company as a manager. 2+ years experience collaborating with remote teams based in the US or some other country. Experience in developing and delivering products requiring systems programming in Linux and Python. Good to have experience in server technologies like BMC, BIOS, Storage and networking. Knowledge about NAND and Flash based memory are an added advantage Detail oriented, with experience in defining, partitioning, prioritizing software requirements across remote teams. Skilled in flushing out dependencies and roadblocks. Demonstrated skills of managing software innovation and meeting development deadlines in a product company. Data driven, with an ability to extract insights and make forecasts based on available information. Experienced in Agile and DevOps practices. Has prior experience in leading or delivering System Software solutions for Enterprise or Consumer domains. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
