Overview
Strategic Finance is a vital partner to Instacart’s executive team, providing insights that guide critical decisions and capital allocation. We lead forecasting, performance tracking, budgeting, and long‑term financial planning across the company.
We are seeking a Manager to join our fast‑paced Strategic Finance team to support Instacart’s International expansion. In this role, you will partner closely with cross‑functional leaders to evaluate new market opportunities, support key strategic decisions, and own forecasting and business planning for our International initiatives. You will develop financial models, assess investment trade‑offs, and provide clear recommendations to senior leadership. This exciting role offers high visibility and the opportunity to directly influence Instacart’s global growth strategy. The role will be reporting to the Senior Manager for International Finance.
About the Job
Serve as the key finance partner for Instacart’s International expansion, owning end‑to‑end financial forecasting, business planning, and performance management for new and emerging markets.
Partner closely with cross‑functional leaders (e.g., Business Development, Corporate Development, Operations, Strategy, Legal, Policy) to evaluate market entry opportunities, assess investment trade‑offs, and provide clear recommendations that shape Instacart’s global growth strategy.
Build and refine complex financial models to support scenario planning in a highly ambiguous environment, enabling the executive team to make fast, data‑driven decisions.
Develop actionable insights by analyzing market dynamics, unit economics, and operational performance across countries; highlight risks, surface opportunities, and drive accountability with senior stakeholders.
Own the monthly and quarterly actuals vs. forecast (AvF) process for International, including variance analysis, commentary, and presentation of results to senior leadership; translate financial performance into clear business narratives that connect drivers to outcomes and inform future forecast adjustments.
Thrive in a fast‑paced and constantly evolving environment, establishing structure where needed while adapting processes, forecasts, and recommendations as the International landscape rapidly changes.
About You
You combine rigorous financial modeling with crisp communication and executive presence. You’re energized by ambiguity, move quickly without sacrificing quality, and collaborate effectively across functions to get to the right answer.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
6+ years of experience in Strategic/Corporate Finance, FPA, or another analytical field, supporting high-growth public technology companies.
