<p><strong>About the Job:</strong></p> <p>LaunchDarkly is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager to drive complex, cross-functional engineering initiatives across our platform and product organization. You will be instrumental in defining and optimizing processes, ensuring effective communication, and successfully delivering critical, high-impact technical programs that shape the future of our product and business.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Program Leadership:</strong> Own and drive the end-to-end execution of large, complex technical programs (e.g., core platform migrations, security and compliance initiatives, new product launches) across multiple engineering and product teams.</li> <li><strong>Planning and Scoping:</strong> Work closely with Engineering, Product, and Design leadership to define program scope, objectives, success metrics, and realistic delivery schedules.</li> <li><strong>Process Optimization:</strong> Implement, refine, and champion lightweight, effective program management best practices and development processes (e.g., agile methodologies, release management) to increase engineering efficiency and predictability.</li> <li><strong>Risk Management:</strong> Proactively identify, prioritize, and mitigate program risks and dependencies, ensuring alignment and clear accountability across all stakeholders.</li> <li><strong>Communication:</strong> Serve as the central communication hub, providing regular, clear, and concise status updates to executive leadership, engineering teams, and cross-functional partners.</li> <li><strong>Cross-Functional Collaboration:</strong> Facilitate effective decision-making and alignment among diverse teams, including Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>8+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, Engineering Manager, or similar role driving technical programs within a fast-paced, high-growth technology company.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, complex software engineering projects, particularly in a SaaS, cloud-native, or distributed systems environment.</li> <li>Deep understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and program management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban).</li> <li>Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and negotiating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.</li> <li>Proven ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with engineering teams, serving as a trusted partner and advisor.</li> <li>Proficiency with program and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Google Workspace).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in the Feature Flagging, DevOps, CI/CD, or Developer Tools space is a plus.</li> <li>A strong technical background, having previously worked as a software engineer or in a highly technical role.</li> <li>Experience driving programs with compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).</li> </ul> <div> <p class="p1"><strong>Pay:</strong></p> <p class="p1"><em>Target pay ranges based on Geographic Zones* for Level 4:</em></p> <ul class="ul1"> <li class="li1">Zone 1: <em>San Francisco/Bay Area or NYC Metropolitan Area, Boston, Seattle</em> - $171,200 - $235,400**</li> <li class="li1">Zone 2:<em> Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Austin, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago - </em>$154,100 - $211,860**</li> <li class="li1">Zone 3: <em>All other US locations - </em>$<span class="collapsed-field-text">145,500 - $200,090</span> *</li> </ul> <p class="p1"><em>LaunchDarkly operates from a place of high trust and transparency; we are happy to state the pay range for our open roles to best align with your needs.
