Job Description
About DustWe're creating a new AI operating system that has the potential to change the way companies operate. Our mission at Dust is to transform how work gets done by letting any team and employee shape the exact agents they need to accelerate their work. With 70%+ weekly active users, people stick with Dust as much as they do with Slack and Notion. We already are a core part of their jobs. We're at an exciting stage of our journey and growing fast. We're serving great customers like Cursor, Clay, Whatnot, and Persona, and aim to 5x our growth by the end of 2026.Dust is a Sequoia-backed company with an experienced and determined team of optimists (coming from companies like Stripe and OpenAI) that likes to focus on users, getting great things done by shipping fast, and doesn’t take itself too seriously while doing so.TLDRDust is building the AI operating system that transforms how companies work, already used weekly by 70%+ of our customers' teams. We're looking for a Senior Product Designer who can tackle ambiguous product problems across our platform, working in close partnership with engineering in a highly technical environment where AI capabilities evolve weekly. This isn't a typical design role. You'll define the end-to-end experience for how humans collaborate with AI agents, shaping a product category that lacks established patterns yet. You need strong discovery and product thinking to frame the right problems, exceptional UI craft to execute elegant solutions, and the communication skills to influence direction across a lean, technical team. You'll thrive here if you're excited by:Defining a new product category: Creating interaction patterns for AI agents that don't exist yetHigh impact, high autonomy: Owning entire product areas from discovery through delivery with massive scopeTechnical depth: Working alongside world-class engineers (ex-Stripe, OpenAI) who value craft and move fastReal usage at scale: Seeing your work used daily by customers like Cursor, Clay, Whatnot, and PersonaOur CultureProduct-First: We're laser-focused on delightful product experiences with existing LLMs, not building foundation models. "No GPUs before PMF."Small, High-Impact Team: Alumni from Stripe, Square, OpenAI. We're keeping the team intentionally small—every person has massive scope and impact.Transparency & Collaboration: Our repository is open source. We share information openly because the best ideas emerge from serendipity and open exchange.Proactive Problem-Solving: See something broken? Fix it—without waiting for permission. We create solutions, not wait for them.Ship to Learn: We move fast and learn from real user feedback. Speed matters.Intellectual Humility: Strong convictions, loosely held. We advocate confidently for our ideas while staying open to new perspectives. If new data emerges, we adapt quickly. What You'll DoOwn end-to-end product areas from discovery through delivery. Defining problems, exploring solutions, shipping designs, and measuring impactLead product discovery by working with users, analysing behaviour, and framing ambiguous problems into actionable design opportunitiesCreate exceptional UI that balances simplicity with powerful functionality in a complex, AI-driven productPartner deeply with engineering to understand technical constraints, explore what's possible, and influence implementation decisionsShape product direction by presenting work clearly, building conviction with stakeholders, and advocating for user needsContribute across disciplines when needed.
