The Payroll Manager plays a critical role in supporting our growing, multi-state healthcare organization by ensuring our team members are paid accurately, on time, and in full compliance with all regulations.</p> <p>This is a highly visible, hands-on role for an experienced payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and values precision, accountability, and service. <strong>Based on-site at our headquarters in Portsmouth with the option of one remote day each week</strong>, the Payroll Manager serves as a trusted partner to Human Resources, Accounting, and Operations, while also acting as a key resource for managers and employees. If you enjoy owning the payroll process end-to-end, improving systems and workflows, and supporting the people who support patient care, this role offers meaningful impact and growth.</p> <h3><strong>Your Impact</strong></h3> <ul> <li data-start="827" data-end="927">Independently process bi-weekly, multi-state payroll in a high-volume, hourly employee environment</li> <li data-start="827" data-end="927">Ensure payroll is completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations</li> <li data-start="1048" data-end="1135">Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, and system controls to ensure data integrity</li> <li data-start="1138" data-end="1232">Serve as the on-site payroll expert and primary point of contact for payroll-related matters</li> <li data-start="1235" data-end="1346">Lead payroll-related projects, including workflow improvements in ADP Workforce Now and ADP Workforce Manager</li> <li data-start="1349" data-end="1448">Partner with Human Resources and Operations to improve timekeeping accuracy and payroll data flow</li> <li data-start="1451" data-end="1534">Train new managers on payroll systems, timekeeping, and payroll-related processes</li> <li data-start="1537" data-end="1629">Respond to employee payroll inquiries via phone and email with professionalism and clarity</li> <li data-start="1632" data-end="1699">Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex payroll discrepancies</li> <li data-start="1702" data-end="1794">Support onboarding, employee changes, and terminations in partnership with Human Resources</li> <li data-start="1797" data-end="1881">Create, document, and maintain payroll procedures, policies, and internal controls</li> <li data-start="1884" data-end="1985">Oversee quarter-end and year-end payroll processes, including W-2 reconciliation and year-end close</li> <li data-start="1988" data-end="2054">Process third-party payments such as garnishments and deductions</li> <li data-start="1988" data-end="2054">Support wage verifications, unemployment, and workers’ compensation requests</li> <li data-start="1988" data-end="2054">Perform additional duties as assigned</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Who You Are</stron ...
