The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Workday HCM and strong technical expertise across Workday tools and reporting. This role partners closely with the People Team, IT, and cross-functional teams to ensure Workday delivers efficient, scalable, and business-ready functionality.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>About the Team:</strong></p> <p>The People Solutions team is transforming how Gusto supports its people by pairing cutting-edge AI with smart automation. We optimize workflows, enhance service delivery, and free up teams to focus on meaningful, high-impact work to support a more responsive, efficient, and future-ready people experience.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:</strong></p> <p>Workday Configuration Enhancements</p> <ul> <li>Configure Workday modules (e.g., HCM, Talent, Absence, Compensation, Payroll, Time Tracking) based on business requirements.</li> <li>Develop and update Workday Business Processes, calculated fields, condition rules, and security roles.</li> <li>Implement new features and optimize existing Workday functionality with each Workday release.</li> </ul> <p>Reporting Analytics</p> <ul> <li>Develop advanced, matrix, composite, and dashboard reports in Workday.</li> <li>Provide data insights and ensure data accuracy across systems.</li> <li>Support audits through reporting and documentation.</li> </ul> <p>Testing Quality Assurance</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with stakeholders to develop test plans, test scripts, and manage user acceptance testing (UAT).</li> <li>Perform regression and functional testing for biannual Workday releases.</li> </ul> <p>Collaboration Support</p> <ul> <li>Partner with People and business teams to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.</li> <li>Provide day-to-day Workday system support and troubleshoot issues.</li> <li>Offer guidance and training on Workday functionality to key users.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Here’s what we're looking for:</strong></p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, HR Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).</li> <li>5+ years of hands-on Workday development experience.</li> <li>Strong understanding of Workday security, business processes, reporting and calculated fields.</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.</li> </ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Workday certifications (HCM, Benefits, Time Tracking, Reporting).</li> <li>Experience in HR, payroll, benefits, or related domains.</li> <li>Experience working in an agile environment.</li> </ul> <p>Our cash compensation amount for this role is between $155,790 - $194,738/year in Denver, between $183,580 - $229,475/year for New York/San Francisco.
