Intercom is our second newest major product line and is off to the best start of any product in Verkada’s history. Our intercom allows customers to receive calls from anywhere - at their desk or on their phone - with rich video and 2-way audio, and we have a lot more to build.</p> <p>We consider our team a startup within a startup, with a fair amount of ownership and autonomy. You’ll be working alongside a dynamic team of firmware, mobile, and frontend engineers to develop this product line.</p> <h3><strong>Who You Are</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Excited by new products and startups</li> <li>You think about delivering best-in-class products and experiences - not features</li> <li>You can take a less-than-fully-fleshed-out product idea and drive it to completion</li> <li>BS or a graduate degree in Computer Science, Maths, Engineering, or science</li> </ul> <h3><strong>What You Bring</strong></h3> <ul> <li>7+ years of industry backend software engineering experience</li> <li>2+ years of professional experience as a backend engineer at a rapidly growing start up or innovative company.</li> <li>Experience driving technical direction and leading teams on project execution</li> <li>Architect scalable systems and design latency sensitive applications for our Intercoms deployed around the world. </li> <li>Experience collaborating cross functionally to design complex systems with simple and robust backend APIs</li> <li>History of shipping out significant products. We are looking for someone who can own backend systems end-to-end. </li> <li>Ownership mentality, resolving problems that span beyond team boundaries</li> <li>Deep expertise with relational databases.
