As a software engineer specializing in developer operations, you will engage with other Starlink engineers to learn about their systems, workflows, and challenges. You will take this knowledge and your passion for building great software to develop systems that allow our teams to innovate rapidly and reliably. You are the engineer that other engineers can count on; you are technically excellent, you attack every problem with enthusiasm, you care deeply about what it takes to build high quality software.</p> <p>Aerospace experience is not required to be successful here - rather we look for smart, motivated, collaborative engineers who love solving problems and want to make an impact on an inspiring mission.</p> <p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Invent tools and processes that enable fast, accurate, and easy-to-use development and deployment systems</li> <li>Provide fast and comprehensive software validation, including virtualized, hardware-in-the-loop, and on-orbit test platforms </li> <li>Monitoring and data analysis in support of a continuous integration and release system</li> <li>Hands-on integration and troubleshooting across the entire Starlink stack </li> <li>Create and manage core infrastructure such as databases and software libraries</li> <li>Identify areas for improvement and create innovative solutions that enable high developer velocity</li> </ul> <p><strong>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline and 5+ years of systems engineering experience; OR 7+ years of professional experience building software in lieu of a degree</li> <li>Development experience in Python, Go, or C++</li> </ul> <p><strong>PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>DevOps, site reliability engineering, or systems administration experience </li> <li>Deep understanding of testing, continuous integration, build, deployment and continuous monitoring</li> <li>Strong understanding of relevant technologies, such as:</li> <ul> <li>Bazel or other build systems</li> <li>Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies</li> <li>GitOps, ArgoCD, or other relevant experience</li> </ul> <li>Fluency in Python</li> <li>Strong skills in debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing</li> <li>Experience managing large scale systems</li> <li>Developed and deployed software that has been used in real world applications/projects</li> <li>Creative approach to problem solving, exceptional analytical skills and engineering fundamentals</li> <li>Excellent communication skills both written and verbal</li> <li>Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements</li> </ul> <p><strong>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed</li> </ul> <p><strong>COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:</strong></p> <div>Pay range:</div> <div>Software Engineer/Senior: $160,000 - $220,000/per year</div> <p>Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-b ...
