<p>At SpaceX we are deploying Starlink, the world's most advanced satellite constellation, to provide broadband internet access to the world. We design, build, and operate all parts of the system – from the hardware in customers' homes to the satellites on orbit. Our engineers are endlessly curious, love to learn and try out new things. <p>As the optical transceiver production supervisor, you will lead the team of hourly employees directly responsible for build, test, and troubleshooting of this hardware on the optical transceiver production line. The supervisor will be responsible for leading and driving continuous improvement in all aspects of operations, whether in manufacturing process development, factory layout, or design feedback. <p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Manage an hourly workforce by assessing employee performance, providing positive/constructive feedback, facilitating conflict resolution, and addressing repeat issues with corrective actions, performance improvement plans or through disciplinary means</li>
<li>Lead by setting an example; take feedback from all levels of the organization, and motivate your organization to achieve the highest level of results (in safety, quality, and rate)</li>
<li>Provide mentorship to team, and assist with design decisions, project strategies and technical problems</li>
<li>Establish and analyze area metrics to drive:
<ul>
<li>Personnel training and development</li>
<li>Optimization of product flow through the factory</li>
<li>Efficiency improvement projects</li>
<li>Identification and elimination of defects within the area value stream</li>
<li>Reduction of downtime for product and personnel</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Assist and drive NPI of new hardware with technician resources</li>
<li>Independently perform hands-on assembly of hardware components and test when required</li>
<li>Develop innovative solutions for defective hardware by troubleshooting and processing</li>
<li>Monitor and approve employee timekeeping records</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent</li>
<li>3+ years of professional experience in a production/manufacturing environment</li>
<li>1+ years of experience leading a team or project</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s or associate’s degree</li>
<li>Experience building, leading and consistently maintaining cohesive teams</li>
<li>Experience in microelectronics assembly (die bond, wire bond, alignment, electrical circuitry)</li>
<li>Organized and self-driven, capable of working independently with little direction in a fast-paced/cross-functional environment</li>
<li>Basic understanding of industrial electrical, control, and instrumentation systems.</li>
<li>Ability to read, interpret controlled documentation, and processes such as: mechanical drawings, GDT, assembly procedures/work instructions, schematics, engineering drawings, parts lists, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, etc.</li>
<li>Experience effectively communicating (verbal and written) with both production and engineering teams</li>
<li>Experience within an aerospace, aviation, or automotive manufacturing environment</li>
<li>Demonstrable hands-on skill in fault finding, problem resolution</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p>
