We are looking for great people who want to take this journey with us! <a class="external-link" href="https://vimeo.com/652202630/3ae8c047b6" target="_blank">Get a sneak peek into life at ADESA!</a></p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Role and Team</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Reporting to the Mechanical Services Manager or designated manager, the Auto Mechanic performs proper diagnosis, repairs and maintenance to vehicles as assigned. Maintain consistently high standards on quality, efficiency and safety. </li> </ul> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Some Responsibilities</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>A/C Heater - Operate the system and recognize if the system is cooling or not, Perform basic system checks such as power to compressor, Visually inspect condenser, belt tension, etc., Identify Freon and oil leaks</li> <li>Brakes - Identify components of brake system, Visually inspect brakes, Identify irregular noises and leaks, Perform simple system tests, Measure lining, drums, rotors, cams, Road test for proper operation, Check fluid level, Adjust service and park brakes and perform repair</li> <li>Electrical Charging Systems - Visually inspect batteries, Clean connections, Check condition of belts, Test batteries, Check alternator mounting and pulley, Replace and adjust belts, Perform basic charging system check</li> <li>Clutch - Lubricate bearing, linkage, shafts and cables, Identify proper clutch operation</li> <li>Cooling Systems - Check and adjust coolant levels, antifreezes (and requirements), Visually inspect system for leaks, Make minor repairs such as hose replacements, fan shrouds, fittings, Pressure test, Flush and refill systems</li> <li>Electrical Cranking System – Inspect/ test batteries, cables and motor, Clean battery cables, connections and starter, Check, charge and replace batteries, Repair/replace defective cables, Read wiring schematics</li> <li>Lighting System and Electrical Accessories - Repair minor wiring problems, Replace bulbs, lenses and simple light assembles, Adjust/replace sealed beams, Install/replace accessories (heated mirrors, fans, spotlights, etc.)</li> <li>Drive Axles - Inspect housings for leaks, Change oil and filter and clean breathers</li> <li>Driveline - Lubricate drive line, Inspect components for wear or damage</li> <li>Gas Engines - Check and adjust oil levels, Identify unusual noises and oil leaks</li> <li>Fuel Systems - Replace and prime fuel filter, Check gas and diesel fuel system components such as fuel lines, pickup tubes, return lines, etc. for proper integrity and condition</li> <li>Preventive Maintenance - Proper lube techniques, Minimal tire inspection, Brake check/applied stroke, Battery check, Under vehicle check/lose components, Initial Fault code identification</li> <li>Tire and Wheel Maintenance - Perform air pressure checks, Check tread depth, Identify tires that need to be changed or repaired, Perform tire Checks, Replace tire and wheel assembles, Mount/dismount and rotate tires</li> <li>Other duties as assigned</li ...
