From character and level design to competitive gameplay and system design, help shape the future of interactive entertainment at Epic.</p> <h3><strong>What You'll Do</strong></h3> <p>Epic Games is looking for a Systems Designer to build progression and economy-related game features on a new game project. This includes designing and prototyping the features, working with a cross-disciplinary development team to implement them, and finally creating the high-level scripting and content required to realize them in-game fully.</p> <h3><strong>In this role, you will</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Design, prototype, and collaborate with other Designers and project leadership to ensure your systems deliver the desired player experience and achieve other project goals</li> <li>Communicate the vision for these features to developers across multiple disciplines, and ensure they have the information needed to implement them quickly and effectively</li> <li>Solicit and integrate feedback from across the team, ensuring we’re delivering the best version of your systems to our players</li> <li>Create the scripting/data/content required by those systems, iterating from early prototypes to final shippable quality</li> <li>Expand and iterate on those systems once they’re in the live environment, ensuring the game remains exciting and engaging to players over the long term</li> </ul> <h3><strong>What we're looking for</strong></h3> <ul> <li>5+ years of experience shipping titles as a Systems Designer, working on progression, economy, and/or engagement features and content</li> <li>Experience working on live-service multiplayer environments is preferred</li> <li>Demonstrated talent for empathizing with players and a deep understanding of player motivations, forms of play, and the effects of progression and goal setting on play</li> <li>Strong interest in game progression and economies, and an understanding of what makes them work</li> <li>Able to react quickly to changing project needs, drive decisions, and then own that vision </li> <li>You’re player-focused, passionate, solutions-focused, and innovative; These traits equal success at Epic and influence everything we do</li> </ul> <h2>EPIC JOB + EPIC BENEFITS = EPIC LIFE</h2> <p><span data-sheets-userformat="{"2":13201,"3":{"1":0},"7":{"1":[{"1":2,"2":0,"5":{"1":2,"2":13421772}},{"1":0,"2":0,"3":3},{"1":1,"2":0,"4":1}]},"10":0,"11":4,"12":0,"15":"Roboto","16":10}">Our intent is to cover all things that are medically necessary and improve the quality of life.
