Job Description
The Fabric group builds and operates the core networking and connectivity infrastructure that powers Datadog—everything from customer-facing traffic to internal service-to-service communication. Fabric sits at the foundation of Datadog’s platform, enabling secure, reliable, and cost-efficient connectivity at global scale.
We are hiring a Staff Engineer to lead and evolve the automation and provisioning of our networking infrastructure as Datadog continues to expand into new regions and deployment models worldwide.

What You’ll Do:
Design and build automation systems to provision, configure, and manage Datadog’s global networking infrastructure
Enable one-click (and fully automated) regional bootstrapping , teardown, and validation
Improve the safety, speed, and correctness of infrastructure changes
Lead technical initiatives that reduce manual operations and eliminate error-prone workflows
Balance reliability, security, and cost efficiency at global scale
Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across the organization
Who You Are: (Describe role qualifications here)
You have a BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience
You have 10+ years of relevant engineering experience, and experience acting as a technical lead
Experience building large-scale distributed systems in a production environment
Strong programming skills in one or more of: Go, Rust, C++, Java
You are familiar with some or all of the following technologies/concepts: Cloud Networking (e.g. AWS, GCP and Azure), Kubernetes, Proxies / Load Balancers (e.g. Envoy), DNS and traffic management, Infrastructure automation tools (e.g. Terraform)
You are curious and interested in learning deep infrastructure and networking domains
